We needed to replace Skipp. I'll say it again - WE NEEDED TO REPLACE SKIPP

In case you missed it. WE NEEDED TO REPLACE SKIPP.

Priority number one, in my opinion, was The NeEd tO rEpLaCe SKIPP.

We went into the season WITHOUT HAVING REPLACED SKIPP, and essentially without a recognised defensive midfielder. We got Normann, but it seems that he really hasn't been fit, and it also seems that he is not primarily a defensive midfielder.

Skipp and Buendia were our two best players (or at least 2 of the best 3 if we add Pukki), and we didnt replace either. At least we have some players who could come in and cover RM though, and maybe play the same role (Dowell mostly).

Instead of replacing Skipp (and or Emi) we spent most of our money (~£30m in fees alone) on:

- two LEFT wingers. Yep, 2 x 10m on the same, non-priority position.
- a striker who doesnt score goals, who hadnt scored goals in the past, and who has done "well" (ish) sometimes as a hard working right midfielder.

When Webber joined, he did a scathing interview on the balance/composition of the squad he inherited. Can't remember what he said, but it was like "we had 5 contracted RBs, and not one contracted LB" or something like that. And he went through the whole squad basically saying, "what the f**k were my predecessors playing at?".

Well, take a look in the mirror son. You didn't fill the two gapping holes in the team, added a load of similar CMs, a load of wingers to go along with our load of wingers, and left us with Pukki + two kids who have barely any top division goals between them. You signed two loan players (Normann, Kabak) who have been more or less continually injured. A total and complete f**k up.

(Sorry, not sure where that came from, but glad to have got it off my chest.)
