To me it seems clear

Even if we develop a player in the Chelsea way (i.e. not good enough for us but good enough for someone else) then there will prob not be a big enough transfer fee to make a profit for us.

Ahadme, Fitzpatrick, Hutchinson, Nizet, Power & Thorvaldsson cost AT LEAST £400k in fees to recruit, plus wages. And how much of that did we recoup?
