I would really like to see an understanding of what science is.

We have a narrow definition of science as being medical, engineering, and the traditional school sciences, basically. It really ought to comprise all empirical knowledge - forensic examination of history is scientific, language is scientific, in fact reason and philosophy could be said to be too. We live in a world with an arts / science divide, which, as with all the other polarisations we live with, is an enemy of harmony and progress.
