Greater exposure, better chance of winning a cup / qualifying for europe. Why wouldn't he want that? Not even taking into account the commercial spinoffs for him, financially, that would come his way with bigger exposure.
Players want to win and achieve in addition to making a shed load of money. He has a better chance of that than at Villa.

If I was him and also wasn't a Norwich fan, I'd do exactly what he did - would be nuts not too.
