and the outcome in terms of the virus has luckily been good. Similarly these new Plan B things are clearly political both in scope and timing. I happen to think it’s also the right decision and I don’t really care that it’s fairly transparently being taken for the wrong reasons.

All governments take decisions for political reasons fairly obviously. I’m not being especially critical of this current one on those grounds. I do think they lack a basic competence that was taken for granted a couple of decades ago but so do Labour and that’s probably a function of my age. Nothing like back in my day…
