almighty facebook s**tstorm about our local parish council over this ninsense

i'm not on facebook but my wife has kept me updated about all the Handforth parish council triviality of it. Basically the parish council shut the carpark to the village staithe for COVID 19 SECURITY reasons and all hell was unleashed from the villagers. Young mums argued that they couldn't drive there and use the riverwalk for "exercise" old men waded in with "YOU SHOULD NOT BE DRIVING ANYWHERE, DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT LOCKDOWN MEANS??!!!!" "STAY AT HOME, PROTECT THE NHS!.

A mum replied "there is no footpath to the staithe am I supposed to levitate down there?" and "what about our mental health?" another woman piled in with "I overheard people saying they had driven there from the A47!" another chimed in with "CALL THE POLICE!". Now people have taken to parking on a bend in the street which is causing stress to the people that live there. It has got quite bitter and divisive and altogether, just very depressing.

I'm guessing this has all come about from the media beach scaremongery and the derbyshire drone plodders.
