If he has quoted 2 days and all prep and paint was agreed or done by him and he's had to come back to correct it then that's down to him. He thought he could do it in two days (assuming you didn't say you needed it in that time frame) and he couldn't deliver.
If I was him and wanted to retain a client, I would be making sure the job was done properly at no extra cost from the quote. You'll be far more inclined to use him again then wouldn't you.
