Intent is so hard to prove

For what it’s worth, I doubt they did intend to kill pc harper, I think they wanted to get away and wanted him off the rope. The way they went about that risked killing him, but that isn’t the same as intending to kill.

Manslaughter probably is right, unless there is some better evidence of intent. Being really stupid doesn’t mean it’s the crime of murder.

However, the sentence should still be very long and more or less as the same as for murder.
