From what I've read

They knew that poor guy was caught in a sling being dragged behind the car and simply weaved around at speed in an effort to shake him off. There's no doubt about what the outcome of that was likely to be.
They showed absolutely no remorse either.

The whole case makes for very unpleasant reading.

The fact that they'll likely be walking among us again in a relatively short time doesn't sit well with me.
