I doubt Castle Mall is the reason for their collapse, they own quite a lot of

shopping centres all over the country and have been acquiring more and more over the last few years. Have possibly over stretched themselves and then the coronavirus has killed them off.

That said I agree with you re independent shops and I hope that supporting them more widely will be a residue of this episode. I think people will shop more locally anyway and the sort of stuff that was being sold in Castle Mall will be done mainly online. Will be interesting to see how they try and fill the space though if these shopping centres fold.
