Spoke to a guy the other day who has worked across all the schools in sheffield
And he said that this effect is balanced with those schools having a higher quality of teaching, with the teachers who just want an easy job (and therefore teach in the least intensive way possible) voluntarily leaving and this being filtered out.
He would always send his kids to a multicultural if he had the choice for this reason.
Not sure i wholeheartedly buy into it but its an interesting perspective
