Narrative seems to be emerging fed by Webber & co and some of our more
snowflake (there I used it) fans that Murphy wanted to leave because he fans abused him. I recall this started when one of our managers made a comment a while ago about fans needing to support Josh (in turn said manager trying to divert attention from his own failings) and seems to have grown from there, seized upon by some fans who seem to love spouting on about how terrible, prejudiced or awful our fans are.
I thought Webber’s comments in this regard yesterday were very poor. He seems to be a bit of an a***hole as far as I can see (Webber that is) with no people skills who seems to be managing to create divisions between fans and players in order to spin/justify transfers. I really don’t like the acrimony he seems to be creating with departed players.
“Joshua Murphy, he’s one of our own” we used to sing. Both Murphs got great support from our crowd and yes ok there were a few groans when crosses went astray but they were frustrating players.
