Goodness me! How unbelievably patronising this sounds!

Firstly, I love Hughton. What a thoroughly nice chap he is. Also I am usually the last poster to want to change a manager. I like us to keep them as long as possible. But with Hughton I was desperate for a change. And I promise you it had nothing to do with the 'breathtaking arrogance of wanting to play sexy football'.

You mentioned the views of pants and USAC. All three of you watch Norwich on the screen rather than live. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it, but watching the matches at CR under Hughton was excruciating. I would watch the clock the whole game. As each five minutes went I would tell myself, phew, that's five minutes and they haven't scored against us. There was nothing else to watch. We never seemed to attack. This was true in the first season when we finished 11th too. It was lovely to see us achieving a few wins against some top teams, but SO stressful hoping we would hang on to that score. We never seemed to be able score more than one goal.

It was such a relief to swap Hughton for Adams (and then Neil and Farke). I didn't care at all that we were no longer in the Premier League. I just loved being able to watch us score goals and have fun again. I have enjoyed our seasons without him. The first season we had the joy of a play off chase and the thrill of a Wembley final. The second season I saw tons of goals scored. This season I have had to be more patient. But I'm optimistic and excited to see what happens. And I like our team again.

Good luck to Brighton and to Hughton but I wouldn't swap with them. Each team has their own history. Things are going well for them at the moment. No doubt they'll have times when things are harder. I do see now what you mean by the 'breathtaking arrogance of fans' though with your sneery last paragraph.

PS Brighton have done well this season so that 'proves' Hughton is a good manager. Stoke were relegated so what does that make Lambert? It strikes me that it's ridiculous to judge a manager based on how they are doing with one team at any one time. There are too many variables.
