The one that gets my escapegoat is kilometres

I just do not think in kilometres, I think only in miles. All road signs (distances and speeds) are still in miles/mph and that’s the unit which makes sense to me.

There are two regular offenders on using kilometres without even bothering to give the mile equivalent - BBC cricket, which regularly talks about how fast bowlers are bowling in kph instead of mph, and the Scottish Mountaineering Council, which insists on giving distances only in kilometres.

Grrr to both of them.
