The historical issues weren't only the processor but the operating system. At least for
Samsung and Phillips. My 3rd Gen Apple TV is a single core A5 chip and it is s**tloads faster than my Samsung Smart TV functions. I removed the WiFi dongle from the Samsung telly as I never use it anymore.
