I think there is a lot of blame to go round for our current position
and McNally must take his fair share of it given that he was in charge of everyone at the time that has burdened us with these long term liabilities.
Of course he's not solely to blame, but your simplistic view of just looking at income v expenditure to see whether we are in good shape financially is ridiculous. It doesn't take any account of assets such as value of current squad, or future potential earnings (particularly when parachute payments stop).
The fact is that now we have to sell players to survive and balance the books. A state of affairs which makes promotion (and therefore increased future earnings) much harder to attain. Two years ago we had a lot of surplus money to buy players with and we absolutely wasted it. That is in large part McNally's responsibility and is still having a massive affect on the club now.
