Here goes...

I had my wife and her mum arrange it all. The only condition I had was that it should not be on a match day. I was working in Cumbria during the previous summer and left it all to them. When I came back they said they had a surprise and they'd booked everything, so I had nothing to do but just turn up. When they told me the date etc. I wasn't too happy that my sequence of match attending was going to be messed up. I did say that if the game was away I'd be prepared to miss it. When the fixtures came out and we were playing the then mighty Leeds at home, I had to go, even if it was only to be there for a couple of minutes. Paid the driver a fiver and told him to wait for me til I came out. Needless to say it didn't go down very well, especially when the first telegram was from all the staff and players!! Happy days!
