Hills advice: shorten your stride a little, to make sure you're not overreaching with each

step. That's a really easy mistake to make, and the #1 way to make hills hurt more than they already do. Shorter stride means you can quicken the cadence a little, and get the feet moving more quickly.

Swing the arms, with the motion coming from the shoulder, not the elbow. The coach who runs the hills.session I go to always says you should be trying to hit an imaginary person behind you with your elbow.
