No excuse - I think that season was one of our greatest achievements in the last two

decades. Criminally under-rated by many fans. Next season was tougher but we were still competitive and in with a fighting chance of staying up - in fact I think we beat Spurs and drew with Man City in two of Hughton's last games.

Fans forced him out though because he didn't play reckless attacking football. Neil did last season and took us on our worst run of results for over half a century.
