The trouble is that "progression" is put hugely at risk by relegation

I think we all share the desire not to see the club put financially at risk but the fact is that the single biggest risk to our progression will be if we get stuck back down in the championship again and that is a distinct possibility. last time we were down we definitely had the best squad in the league. If we go down then next season will I think be more competitive with at least 2 other big clubs coming down with us plus the three who miss out in the playoffs this season likely to be strong.

I do think that failure to strengthen the defence was a huge error and not one that was not forseeable or is highlighted with hindsight. We actually didn't really need to do very much more than strengthen the defence and sign Brady.

Anyway lets hope its all rendered irrelevant by our club for once managing to pull off a late surge and be the one that stays up!
