He clearly wasn?t killed for no reason.
The subsequent cover up however was awful. But, is anyone still lying? Facts were established and unreserved Met apology with compensation issued no later than 2010. Bad times, bad things ? some officers did things they shouldn?t have.
However the newsworthiness of such occurences (I remember Stephen Waldorf in the early 80s - google it kids) possibly indicates how rare these things are in the UK.
646 people have been killed by the police in the US so far this year. 646 in just under seven months.
