The Bay of Pigs invasion led to the Cuban Missile Crisis a year later which brought the world to the brink of nuclear annihilation.

I'm not really accounting for anything to be honest. Do you think the media have spent the last 10 years slapping the US on the back for Iraq and Afghanistan?
