Depends. Probably more to do in the Peaks in s**te weather and you will probably

be able to get accommodation on spec.
Lakes, you'll almost certainly have to book and if the weather happens to be s**te on your chosen weekend, it will be a bit grim (unless you like a weekend eating and drinking in the pub)
