You could rig up an elaborate trap for them.

For example I saw this documentary once where a large grand piano was suspended by a single thread which ran directly underneath. You do have to be careful not to inadvertently trip the trap yourself though, as happened to the unfortunate inventor on said documentary. The inventor was a cat trying to trap a mouse but the principle still applies.

I remember another documentary series about roadrunners and coyotes which might have some useful tips. It's probably on the internet somewhere.
