Darren Eadie, for example, was thrown in against Bayern Munich very early in his career and didn't look out of place. Bellamy very quickly looked far too good for the First Division. I appreciate your point, and I think Ryan Jarvis is a potentially useful player, but I don't think he'll amount to much more than a passable Div. 1 striker.
But then Bobby Zamora is banging them in for Wet Sham right now so I suppose I could be wrong ...
