... But who has Worthington released or sold cheaply who has gone on to prove him wrong elsewhere? There's been nobody like Danny Mills or Ade Akinbiyi, who were sold very cheaply by Mike Walker only to go on and command massive transfer fees elsewhere (Akinbiyi has fetched a combined total of over ?10m in his career, and Mills has numerous England caps).

Paul Hayes scored a lot of goals for Scunthorpe, but when the time came to move on, no big clubs went anywhere near him - he wound up at Barnsley, which suggests that he probably *is* a League One player.

I'm not really convinced about Crow, either - he looked reasonable against Liverpool without really doing anything in particular (unlike Jarvis), and he's banging them in the basement but is he really going to be a top-level player?

Worthington gave Green a chance when Marshall left because he knew Green was very, very good. Perhaps our other youth players weren't given a chance because they simply weren't good enough - nobody has really come back to haunt him.

I'd just like to note that I *am* worried about the Ryan Jarvis situation and I *do* want Worthington to leave.
