I have cycle commuted in London for 9 years

Have had one accident. In which I just fell off in the middle of the road, damaging no-one but myself - no cars or pedestrians remotely inconvenienced.

Serious injuries and deaths are, blessedly, still really, really rare and unlikely to happen to you. But still not rare enough.
