Qualifying For Europe

Used to be simple, used to mean something.

Then UEFA went and f**ked it up, the demands of the few coming at the expense of the needs of the many.

Simplify it.

Champions Cup-for League Champions only*

UEFA Cup-League Runners Up only only.

European Cup Winners Cup-Major domestic Cup winners in each league only.

(*Winners of UEFA Cup and ECWC's to qualify for next seasond Champions Cup). Make that knock out, home and away, but, to keep the bigger sides happy, seed it.

Other two straight knock out, home and away, no seeding.

Turn the League Cup into a Competition for Champ, L1 and L2 and scrap the Johnsons Paint Pot Cup. No Euro place but a big cash prize for winners.

If the bigger teams say they want it their way else they'll walk, call the f**kers bluff and let them. See how many make good the threat.

Simple, clear, classic and worth watching and competiting for and in.

And will never ever happen.
