I'm doing the same but I'm not cutting anything out completely. Do calorie counting.
You need to aim for 1500/day and a balanced diet. Chocolate and alcohol are very high in calories and don't fill you up so just have them now and again as a treat (I'd just do dark choc, most milk and chocolate bars are just fat and sugar and have never been anywhere near a chocolate bean)
You also need exercise, 30mins vigorous walking/day minimum.
Main thing is patience. You're not realistically going to lose more than 1lb/week. If you do by crash or quirk dieting you will certainly put it all back on again. It's about lifestyle change.
