This discussion started off in relation to Blatter's comments

He is the President of FIFA and what he said was clearly very silly.

As is the BBC's reaction by interviewing one of their own commentators who picked up one bloke tweeting something a few months ago and wasn't actually abused directly himself. They then give him a platform to say something that didn't happen and put it as headline news on the home page of the BBC website which is read the world over.

It has nothing to do with the world cup, I merely thought that as one NCFC fan's actions had become international news that a bit of context might be appropriate.

As far as I can make out, this was an excellent opportunity to say that we do actually have our house in order as far as we can. There will always be racism but it was dealt with. This is not so in other countries and I think this point ought to be made at some point.
