I have seen Genesis in concert a few times.

In 1986 I saw the on the last night of a 4 night sellout of the old Wembley stadium (Lady Di and Chaz woz there)

I have obviously lost touch with popular tastes in the UK but they had a pretty f**king fantastic career.

Phil and Genesis have been incredibly popular all around the world for several decades.

Now it seems he is thought of as some kind of joke.

Its a strange joke because its like saying.........

Ha ha.........look at you....... you sold millions of albums.....played in front of huge crowds........ made a boatload of cash...........you must be really crap!

In these days of manufactured stars who lack talent outside of a studio and have careers measured in minutes rather than decades it just rings hollow and bitter.
