The film is very different. It cannot be compared stylistically or structurally to the book and that is why it works in its own medium, as a story based on the book.

It is a great adaptation. It is not the same.

Whenever Norwich get relegated, or miss out on promotion or whatever, I put it on and share Colin Firth's pain. When we win, I can put it on and know that he is portraying my joy accurately.

A perfect, perfect film about being a football fan.
