I think the FIFA big fish do

it's just that England isn't a big fish... As I note when the WC has gone to lesser footballing nations they've gone where the money is.

Often all rationality goes out of the window when talking of the national side and national footballing aspirations. Having been in Germany for parts of WC 2006 it really should simply be held there every time and the profits distributed in an equitable manner. Fantastic organisation; superb, reliable transport infrastructure at all levels; friendly; great fun and top quality beer and food (outside the corporate sponsorship in the stadiums at any rate). England were s**t; but that's a given these days.
