be just like the Premier League breaking away from the Football League to keep all the money for themselves? Or the way the big clubs in Europe clubbed together to force UEFA to adopt the current Champions League format (more money for theose clubs) under threat of a breakaway?

It could be argued that FIFA is the only football organisation left in which, as we have just seen, the big fish DON'T get to impose their will on the smaller ones. Of course in this case as England (a big fish) supporters some City fans are apparently suddenly on the side of the big fish pushing the smaller ones about, when in the other (club football) cases mentioned they are on the side of the underdog since City come in that category and are teh ones being pushed about.
