thing is he stalled last time on his contract

so have to believe he's one of the higher earners. Then the fact that we know he's struggled at this level before. So guess it's the combination of those two and the fact we have four centre backs.
Pleased he's played well this year and won the fans over, so probably good that he's going on that high, rather than going next year when everyone laughs at him again.
