So what's the solution pants/old git? Pull out millions of pounds our board doesn't have
out of their arses? We have a budget better than half the division. We have better training facilities than most of this division. Better fan base and a better stadium. We also, where transfer fees were not large spent a ridiculous amount on agents fee's. We have also bank rolled 3 managers in as many years, ok they appointed them but that still costs money. We are not the only team to sack this many managers in the space of time and we are not the only team to have to bank roll those managers.
For me it's nothing to do with the budget itself, we could have got Iverson, but his club were not willing to give him to us at the valuation that Glenn and the club put on him. I can't see, and I could be wrong Delia stepping in and saying 1m for Iverson is madness I'm capping that transfer at 750k.
Now I believe the board inc Delia and Michael have mis spent funds and have made bad decisions however harping on about a striker that we should have got is not Delia and Michaels fault but that of the managers. He decided to buy Lupoli and to loan OJ and Sibi, when a bigger target man was needed. After selling Brown and Strihavka and losing Dublin to retirement. He did not replace those strikers and spent funds elsewhere. He decided on deadline day to sell Shacks to Wolves. He decided to release our best player in Hucks. He decided to get prem loaness rather than perms from lower leagues. I don't think the strategy for this season was in the hands of delia and Michael.
Like you I'm fed up (albeit in reverse) of all the people that think we can miraculously pull out wads of cash that we simply don't have. Which is why it's good that we have a manager who can get the best out of rough diamonds. That may just have the man management skills to make players feel loved and full of confidence.
Yes questions need to be asked of where has certain monies gone that we have had and why we keep needing to be bailed out a million here and a million there by Delia. I'm thinking mismanagement from a CE, a chairman and certain managers.
We will always be a selling club more out of players demanding to leave rather than us selling out of necessity. There is always more costs involved in buying a new player than the transfer fee received for selling a player. Selling Ashton and buying Earnie for a reported 4m difference probably turned out to be not much more than a 2m gain.
There are outside football ventures that raise some eyebrows, that I'm not wholly convinced on the factual details like the carpark, like the restaurants, the hotel and the Jarrold stand. How much these cost and how much revenue have we received thus far.
I just think the irrational hatred of Delia and Michael is not on and wrong, at least until they have proved they've done something more sinister or disingenuous than put money into our club.
