Well, my desktop PC at work has 2GB RAM, and a similar processor as this lappy

and you can tell the difference when the web server and database are spinning away generating content.

It's noticable, put it that way.

In my last job I made a cheap server running only MySQL operate about 10x quicker by upping the RAM from 1GB to 8GB.
