each stage *is* a mini-race - and a really high-class one.
Some of them are pretty much designed for the sprinters - and they're a completely different spectacle (and a very exciting one) compared to the stages over the mountains, where the sprinters have no chance.
So he's essentially won four races, against the best cyclists in the world - a truly world-class British sporting performance.
