Well, like I say, your ISP can know exactly where you've been - all your traffic has to be routed through them at some point and it's all logged - so theoretically they can visit the same place you have (but they'd need a warrant I guess). Whether they're interested in downloaders is another matter. And whether they'd go to the effort is yet another; but it's technologically possible - unless, perhaps, you're going through an anonymous proxy; but I'm not sure about that.

That's the thing about this BPI/VM thing is that they're just sending letters to those they *suspect* of downloading/uploading music - as I understand it, the only evidence they're gathering is an IP address - well short of any proof. They're just hoping to scare - sorry, educate - people.
