That BBC article is pretty disingenuous about how this will work

It's not like people are going to be coming out with 'McDonald's Diploma' on their CV.

What is happening here is the government is recognising the millions of pounds that companies like McDonalds spend on in-house training and drawing them into the new system.

As part of the new diplomas, students have to do a minimum of 10 days work based learning, as well as proving core skills. I am assuming that the McDonalds units will only apply to Hospitality and Tourism and/or Business diplomas.

I'm no great fan of McDonald or the new diplomas, but your problem seems to be purely with the fact that it is McDonalds.
