Oh boy!

Um, ok I don't exactly know the answers to these questions to I'll give you a dumbed down version...

The router on computer 1 is connected to a modem which is connected to the PC. There are 3 computers on the network and mine is the 3rd which is 2 floors up. It uses Belkin wireless thingy to connect to the router downstairs.

I've plugged the XBox Ethernet cable into my computer upstairs and followed the instructions on that site which are the same (I think) as you told me - ie allowing other network computers to connect. However there is no option in the Wireless Network Connections Properties to scroll down a list. It looks exactly as on this site User Posted Link

but without the home networking connection part??
