...is that he wouldn't have signed had the board not agreed to having the clause in place. It's disappointing as I guess we were all hoping for at least £1 - 1.5m more, but there's nothing we can do about it now.

All we can hope is that PG has some definite irons in the fire who want to come to NCFC and not more like Sharp.
