Not really. The German, Belgian, French, Swiss and Austrian

rail networks are all far better than the UK one.

And the French one pisses all over the Dutch as well. Our network was fantastic when I first came here but has waned a bit over the last 6 or 7 years (since privatisation of the railways, surprise surprise).
