Then a week later Real lose 3-0 at home with him starting and no one bats an eyelid

That and the fact he's booked once every two games and is sent off at least once a season, significantly straight reds usually

You could say Spanish officials hand out cards like confetti, but that isn't altogether true, it's the cynical attitude of the players that bring the cards. If you watch the champions league, the elite officials include at least 2 spanish officials because of the way they handle games
