You have to look at the risk and reward

Off the top of my head, in the whole history of football Norfolk has produced only 3 players of real note who we could take into our Academy under current rules - Kirchen, Norman and Sutton. It seems to me that it is a better use of resources to spend the money that goes on the Academy to assist the manager in buying the next Ashton or Huckerby.
Subject to one proviso: I keep hearing that the real problem with the Academy was that Morgan didn't have a clue. In which case it's yet another example of the board's complacency in letting him get away with it for so long - but on the plus side we might see a supply of players re-start. Have to say I doubt it.
