Three points

1. If there are no good players in the area - or one good one per decade - why bother with an Academy at all?
2. Or, run a youth team, but outside the FA Academy system
3. Over the last 18 months we have started taking players from further afield - the 2 scots lads, the dane. AFAIK the reason we didn't do so earlier had nothing to do with the rules of the academy system.
