Apologies Tech help regarding RAM upgrade needed badly

Now basically i bought 1gb of ram which fits etc and SHOULD Be compatible i think

at present i have x2 256Mb DDR 2100

New RAM is x1 bank of 1Gb DDR 2700.

Motherboard is:

Board: MICRO-STAR INTERNATIONAL CO., LTD Gamila/Giovani/Neon series 030
Bus Clock: 100 megahertz
BIOS: Award Software 3.25 04/12/2005

Now do i have to change jumpers somewhere on the bloody board to get this to work? At moment it shjows up as 32Mb. Which is very wrong.
