You misrepresented my views and called me a tit. Very friendly. What I have consistently said is this:
1. Most signings at Championship level are failures - the board are aware of this (Munby gave a figure of 75%), yet until the hiatus last summer they allowed Worthington to ship players in and out at the rate of 10 each way, each year - that is no way to be successful.
2. Doncaster seems to think that there are 2 options: either the board take no interest in the company's core business, or they pick the team - citing Hearts as an example (how did they do last season?). In fact there is a third way: Ferguson recently confirmed that what has always happened is that if he wants to sign a player he makes his case to the board. Had Worthington operated under that very mild stricture it seems very unlikely to me that the signing of, for example, Hughes would have gone ahead.
3. There seems no reason why an ex-footballer (although he may be well versed in footballing matters) should be possessed of the financial acumen necessary to run a budget of, say, ?20 million. And in Worthington's case the events of nearly a year ago show that he wasn't.
