it's actually easy to spend big money and get a player who doesn't add value! (numerous examples abound - Veron springs most readily to mind; or Jonson for us) So I think it would be unfair to Worthy to weight it against him.
Leon - yes, I wondered about him. But we sold him for more than we bought him for, and he scored some useful goals - and he gave us TOTLAPR. So I think a success.
And Deano was transfer coup of the century, even though, as you rightly point out, it didn't save us or get us up again
