I've just switched away from Tiscali.

Their "unlimited broadband" isn't unlimited at all - I kept getting stroppy emails requesting that I stop my downloads entirely during peak hours.

I wasn't prepared to do this so they've put me on a "heavy user" bandwith - so basically my downloads just stop between 6-11pm, and very little happens after 3pm or so.

In the email they sent telling me this, they basically told me to go to another ISP - "If you want to change your ISP, then call ..."

And yes, when my broadband stopped working I had to make 3 or 4 hour-long phone calls to an incomprehensible customer service depot that had quite obviously been outsourced to India, which was useless.

Tiscali are rubbish, don't go with them.
